Steven
T. Dodge, M.D.
Medical Director
Dr. Dodge graduated from the Southern Illinois University
School of Medicine in 1975 and began his career-long involvement with
infertility diagnosis and treatment soon thereafter. After his residency
in obstetrics and gynecology, he completed a 2-year fellowship in reproductive
endocrinology and infertility in 1983 at Washington University in St.
Louis, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and established
the first high tech infertility treatment program (GIFT) in the U.S. Military
in 1985. Since 1990 his special areas of expertise have been in vitro
fertilization, egg donation, and gestational surrogacy. He was certified
by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1981 and has been
a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since
1982. He is also a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine
and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Linda
Vaught, Ph.D., H.C.L.D. and William Vaught, Ph.D., H.C.L.D Reproductive
Physiology
Pioneers in the field of assisted reproductive technology,
Bill and Linda opened the North Bay Fertility Center in 1994. Both obtained
their advanced degrees in reproductive physiology from Utah State University.
After academia they began working in embryology in the early 1980's. They
have directed, designed, and implemented several successful IVF laboratories.
Linda is a well recognized expert in ICSI, the revolutionary male infertility
treatment that involves the injection of a single sperm into each egg.
Bill consults with other IVF laboratories across the country that seek
his help to improve their success rates. Together with Dr. Dodge, the
Vaughts offer a full range of assisted reproductive technology services.
Their laboratory has been certified by the College of American Pathologists
and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and is a registered
member of the Society Assisted Reproductive Technology.
Judi Friedman, R.N., M.S
Nurse Coordinator
Judi has worked with Dr. Dodge since 1988. She brings a
wealth of experience to the practice as a nurse coordinator of the IVF
Program established in 1994. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the
University of Maryland, and her Master's Degree from George Washington
University, Washington D.C.
Debbie Karnell, R.N.
Nurse Coordinator
Debbie has been working in the infertility arena since
1992. She became nurse coordinator of the IVF Program in 1994. She brings
firsthand experience to the practice having been an infertility patient
and having had a child through ovum donation. She received her nursing
diploma in West Virginia in 1968.
