Costs depend, of course, on the type of treatment. For egg donation there are three components of the costs:

• medical expenses of the IVF process

• travel expenses to the medical program we work with

• our costs for the egg donor

Medical Expenses of the IVF Process: The medical expenses of the program vary by type of procedure, conventional IVF, IVF with an egg donor and finally IVF with a surrogate (see chart). The fertility medications required by the donor and recipient vary depending upon medical factors relating to the individual donor and/or recipient. Finally, there are some additional procedures that may apply depending upon the specific medical situation related to a donor and/or recipient. One is ICSI, where a single sperm is injected into each egg the other is freezing and storage (up to 3 years) of extra embryos.

Medical Expenses of the Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) Process: Frozen embryo transfer cycles, where the extra eggs that were cryopreserved at the time of the IVF cycle are then implanted into the recipient (see chart).

Our Costs for the Egg Donor: Covers the donor's stipend, screening tests, psychology evaluation, travel expenses and our coordination and processing fees (see chart).

Travel Expenses: Travel costs of course vary depending on where the recipient couple lives. We can offer complete travel packages of airfare, hotel accommodations and ground travel at very reasonable rates. Usually a stay of about 8 days in the San Francisco bay area is all that is required for recipient couples undergoing an IVF cycle. The travel for a FET are substantially less since the recipient couple need stay only 3 or 4 days in the San Francisco bay area.
